Millions of dollars and countless hours of marketing manpower are spent to determine the best possible DVD release date for a movie to maximize its earning potential. The mysterious quantum algorithm used by studios has left us with a month of May with hardly any releases of note along with some movies that I frankly just didn’t see. One of those oversights, “Jack Reacher” comes out today. I heard good things, check it out.
Basically, this is all a roundabout way of saying that the “New on DVD” column is going to be spotty at best this month but will return to its regularly scheduled glory in June. Instead of watching DVDs this month, go do something nice for your mom instead; Mother’s Day is just around the corner. Ingrates.
