T.S. Eliot once mused that April is the cruelest month. He must have been talking about DVD releases. There has been remarkably little to be excited about thus far this month and this week is no exception. Not even Bill Murray can turn things around. Let’s just hope May is less cruel.
“Hyde Park on Hudson”
On paper Murray playing FDR looks like a great idea. Just put him in some pastoral settings, have him take long car rides with Laura Linney and maybe throw in a little international politicking and the thing should take care of itself. Unfortunately, the result is a dull movie that doesn’t have a whole heck of a lot to say. I wouldn’t say this was a disastrous career move for Murray, but it would be nice if Chevy Chase would come along and make “Franklin Pierce: Man of Action” to take some of the heat off.
