'Old sport' edition of: New on DVD

Lazy high school seniors rejoice, an interesting, fairly faithful adaptation of a book you'll be forced to read is now out on DVD. "The Great Gatsby" even has hip music, attractive people and lots of pizazz to hold your attention. Unfortunately Leonardo DiCaprio isn't going to be able to help you on your SATs.

Also out this week some fun, dumb ensemble slight-of-hand and a kinda-good terrorism think piece.

"The Great Gatsby"

I don't have much to ad to my green-light-tinged review other than this. Enjoy.

"Now You See Me"

You've got a big cast featuring Woody Harrelson, Jessie Eisenberg, Isla Fisher, Mark Ruffalo, Michael Cain and Morgan Freeman playing cops and magicians in this cat-and-mouse, crowd-pleasing caper. Just promise you won't try to think too much about it.

"The Relucatant Fundamentalist"

Riz Ahmed gives a great performance as a young Pakistani national who is seduced by America's corporate ladder before a change of heart may or may not result in his becoming a terrorist. There's some interesting stuff in this movie, but it's kind of all over the place. I reluctantly recommend it.
