Trailer Park: 'Machete Kills"

I really liked the first “Machete” mostly because I am a sucker for ridiculous action flicks and movies that are self-referential.  You can say what you want about Robert Rodriguez but you can’t deny that the guy isn’t afraid to abandon logic or the simple laws of physics in the name of general awesomeness. Plus I really enjoy his warped sense of humor.

This is all to say that I am totally jazzed about “Machete Kills.” If there is a formula to what is apparently now a franchise it is to pack the cast to the gills with sexy ladies and talented/washed-up/hammy actors and let it all just bounce off of Danny Trejo’s terrifyingly stoic presence.

This trailer doesn’t give us a whole lot to go on but I feel it leaves us with three very intriguing questions: Can Lady Gaga act? Is this the only possible movie in the universe that Mel Gibson can now appear in without making you feel a little icky about watching Mel Gibson in a movie (I’ll go ahead and say the answer to this one is “yes”)? And what kind of trajectory would Charlie Sheen’s career have taken if he had stuck with his fantastic birth name Carlos Estevez? I can’t say for sure, but I’m pretty sure he would have been involved in at least one Central American revolution.

Viva Carlos Estevez! Viva “Machete Kills!”
